It seems that sex is everywhere: advertisers use it to sell everything from toothpaste to cars, songs are written about it, and movies show all. It’s no wonder that some of you think sex is no big deal. Think again. Sex is meant to be an expression of love between two people who really care for each other. It’s giving a part of yourself to another. Sex is Not something to do because:

  1. “Everyone else is doing it.”
  2. You want to prove the guys hot hot you are.
  3. You don’t want to be a virgin anymore.
  4. You want to know how it feels.
  5. You want to be accepted or loved.
  6. Your steady is pressuring you.
  7. You think it’s the only way to hold on to the relationship.

Boys, the girls usually equate sex with love: so if she had sex with you. She likely to expect more from the relationship. Are you ready for that?

And, Girls, Before you make a decision to have sex, ask yourself these questions and answer them honestly.

  1. Is everyone else really doing it—or are they just talking a lot?
  2. If I have sex with this person, will I be able to look him in the eye tomorrow and talk about sexual experience openly?
  3. If it doesn’t go well, how will I feel—embarrassed, angry, hurt, used?
  4. How will I feel if we break up afterward anyway?
  5. Am I willing to buy and use a condom?
  6. What if this experience results in pregnancy or disease?
  7. Do I really trust this person?
  8. Do I like/love this person?
  9. Is this the only way to prove my love?

Statistically, most girls who had sex at an early age regretted it. In retrospect, they realized they did it for the wrong reasons—and the experience would have been better if they’d waited to share it with someone they really cared about.

So there, think again.
